Job Overview:
Schaeffer Homes is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Controller to oversee our financial operations and contribute to the continued success and growth of our company. This role requires a strong background in accounting and exceptional organizational skills. Experience with accounting software, particularly Sage 300 Accounting or ECI Mark Systems Homebuilding Accounting, is a significant plus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with the leadership team to develop and implement financial strategies.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support decision-making.
- Assist in maintaining and improving the company's IT systems.
- Oversee human resources management, including payroll, benefits administration, employee records, and employee satisfaction efforts.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the homebuilding or construction industry.
- Proficiency in accounting software that is part of a homebuilder ERP, such as Sage 300, ECI Mark Systems, Hyphen, is a bonus.
- Proficiency in Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
